Never before being exposed to art, he soon learned that this experience would change his life forever. The process of casting and applying patinas was so inspiring to him that he began spending late hours after work creating and casting his own pieces.
Arlene Mickelson Arlene's destiny with art began as a small child. On Bainbridge Island, where she grew up, Indian legends and Japanese mysteries gave spirit to her creative mind. When Indians came to pick berries, she was locked inside, curious and fascinated. When her Japanese friends were carted off to World War II detention camps, she was mournful, haunted by the graceful art they left behind. Her perceptive ear heard ancient and similar stories from two forbidden cultures; stories of mountains out of foam. Her discerning eye saw similar slit figures in Indian and Oriental art. Childhood visions; the beginning of Arlene Mickelson's life work.
Donnie Wanner Donnie has been a multimedia artist for the past 10 years. His goal is to blend design, technique, composition and subject matter together to create a special mood and feeling with each piece of art. Each piece is hand cut with torches and colored with the use of heat, chrome plating, and chemicals. Although his pieces are numbered editions, each one is unique and takes on its own personality.
